Coastal routes worth considering

When waterside Italy works best
Spring: good for lake towns and coastal walking before peak summer. Summer: strongest for swimming and island life, but also the busiest period. Early autumn: often a better balance of sea temperatures, atmosphere and fewer crowds. Winter: works best for larger towns and selected lakes; many island and coastal services reduce.
