The arena floor is the headline, but the reason this tour earns its price is the through-line a guide draws between the amphitheatre, the Forum and the Palatine. Bought as three separate admissions, those ruins stay unreadable.
Two and a half hours is tight for three sites, so the pace is brisk and the ground is uneven throughout. Judge the tour on that, not on the arena photograph.

How it fits into a Rome day
Give Ancient Rome the morning and keep the afternoon loose. Monti, Piazza Venezia and the Capitoline sit within a ten-minute walk of the exit, so the day stays in one quarter of the city. The meeting point is near public transport. Do not pin a timed Vatican entry to the same morning.
