Levico Terme Christmas Market 2026: Open Days and Train

The Levico Terme Christmas market sets its wooden huts along the paths of the Parco Asburgico, a 13-hectare Habsburg-era park with 581 trees, in a spa town on the Valsugana railway. The 2026-27 season is the 25th edition and runs from November 21, 2026 to January 6, 2027, but unlike most markets it does not open every day until Christmas.

Open days in 2026: check before you go

The organizers list these opening days for 2026-27 (checked October 2026). On any day not listed, the market is closed:

• November: 21, 22, 27, 28 and 29.
• December: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20 and 24.
• Holiday period: every day from December 26 to January 6.

Days not on the list are closed: November 23 to 26, November 30 to December 3, December 9 and 10, December 14 to 17, December 21 to 23, and December 25. In short, the market opens on long weekends until December 20, on the December 4 to 8 holiday weekend, on Christmas Eve and every day after Christmas.

What to expect in the Habsburg park

The park opened in the early 1900s, built at the same time as the railway. The local tourist board calls it one of Italy’s great old gardens. In December, however, the huts sit under illuminated old trees, which gives Levico a different feel from the town-square markets of South Tyrol.

In past seasons the park hosted an Elves’ Village, where kids could hand their letters to Santa and pet farm animals. The organizers had not released the 2026 program when we checked, so confirm it before you plan a family day around it. Food stalls usually serve mountain specialties and mulled wine.

How to get to Levico Terme by train

Levico Terme station is on the Valsugana railway between Trento and Bassano del Grappa. From Trento the trip takes about 35 to 57 minutes, according to unofficial timetable summaries. From Verona or Bolzano, however, there is no direct train, so you change in Trento.

One warning for 2026. In January 2026 the province replaced three runs in each direction with buses, which do not carry bikes or open strollers. We could not find an official update for November and December 2026, so check Trentino Trasporti or Trenitalia a few days before your visit.
