The verdict
Choose by what you want from the dark. Torino Magica is the classic: an evening walk from Piazza Statuto to Piazza Castello, among sinister statues and lit-up landmarks, with stories of Turin’s “two sides of magic”. It is the one to book for occult legends. Check the language before you go: a few reviewers found themselves in Italian-speaking groups, while others were given their own English guide.
Torino Sotterranea is the better-rated tour and the more physical one. It starts at the Pietro Micca museum, goes down into the tunnels of the 1706 siege, then into a WWII air-raid shelter and the royal ice pits near Porta Palazzo. Entrance fees are included. The supplier warns that it is not suitable for claustrophobic travelers.
Both offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
