How the festival works
The main stage is the Arena Santa Giuliana, where the big-name concerts take place: in 2026, the lineup there included Sting and Zucchero. Around it, the festival uses venues across the historic center. In 2026 they included the Teatro Morlacchi, the Sala dei Notari in the Palazzo dei Priori, the Giardini Carducci and Piazza IV Novembre. Each ticket is valid only for the event printed on it.
In addition, the Arena has a Restaurant Stage: you cannot attend it with a separate ticket, only with a ticket for the main stage concert that evening. There is a kids’ area inside the Arena, free for ticket holders.
Rules at the concert areas
- Bags: no bags or backpacks over 10 liters, and no suitcases, trolleys or strollers.
- Food and drink: you cannot bring food or drinks in; there are food and drink areas inside.
- Cameras: no professional or semi-professional cameras, video cameras, action cams, selfie sticks or tripods. Also, you cannot record video of the concerts.
- Rain: you can only bring folding umbrellas without a pointed tip.
- Children: free up to age 6 without a seat. The festival strongly recommends certified ear protection for them.
Getting to Perugia and around
First, if you drive, the festival recommends the free parking lot at Piazzale Umbria Jazz, with about 3,000 spaces, next to the Pian di Massiano station of the Minimetrò, the small metro that takes you up to the historic center at the Pincetto station. Alternatively, the paid parking lot at Piazza Partigiani is next to the Arena Santa Giuliana and connected to the center by escalators.
Umbria Jazz Winter in Orvieto
The winter edition runs from December 30, 2026, to January 3, 2027, across New Year’s Eve. Orvieto is on the Rome to Florence railway line, about an hour by train from Rome and two from Florence, according to the festival. From the station, the funicular takes you up to the town. If you come from Rome, you can also see Orvieto on a guided day trip from Rome.
